VISION SERVICES
Vision loss can have a profound effect on the health and quality of life of residents in long term care facilities. Older adults are at higher risk for eye disease and vision problems. Routine eye examination is important to check for glaucoma and macular degeneration as these are retinal diseases that can be present with no symptoms. The ability to perform activities of daily living is highly correlated to vision, i.e. walking, driving, reading, etc.
